News from The Arthur Holt Library

This week, we’ve been helping Year 11 Extension English choose the texts that will form the foundation of their Independent Projects. They need to choose a classic text that still exerts influence today. It’s a fantastic way to remind them of the timelessness of truly great books.

Of course, for most of us the winter break is the perfect time to read any kind of book that we like, so this is a great time to head into the Library and do some holiday borrowing. We’ve even built a display of new releases and recommended reading around a toasty fireplace to remind everyone of the very particular pleasures of curling up with a good book on a cold winter’s day.

A quick reminder to parents and carers that you are more than welcome to borrow from The Arthur Holt Library at any time. You can even email us the names of any books that you would like us to reserve for you and have your son pick them up for you.

As much as we love lending out books, we do also like to see them come back, so if you do have any overdue books still lying around at home, please do try to bring them back before the end of term. We will be issuing fines in the final week, but as always, these will be cancelled or refunded as soon as you bring your books back to us.
