Taj scores 10 at world titles
Taj Young (10We) played a key role as Australia secured a top-10 finish at the world U16 water polo championships in Malta.
He was one of Australia’s top scorers with an impressive 10 goals across the tournament and said he felt honoured to mix it with the best in the world at the 32-nation event.
“We really put ourselves on the map and our results show that this Aussie team will be a force in the future.”
The squad included players from Trinity, Shore, Augustine’s, and Knox, highlighting the strength of the CAS/GPS competition.
Australia’s only losses in the tournament were against world powerhouses Montenegro, Croatia, and Netherlands.
The team scored victories over Canada, Turkey, Georgia, and Egypt.
