Request for Exam Volunteers

Request for volunteers to provide Exam Support for students with approved Disability Provisions

All Year Groups 7 to 12

Trinity Education Support Services (TESS) oversees the implementation of Disability Provisions for students who require exam/assessment support and have had this approved either by the School or NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).

We are seeking help from our school community to support disability provisions for the upcoming exam blocks:

Year 12 Examinations:              Monday 15 August to Friday 26 August 2022

Year 11 Examinations:               Monday 29 August to Wednesday 7 September 2022.

Higher School Certificate:       Wednesday 12 October to Friday 4 November 2022.

Year 10 Examinations:              Monday 14 November to Friday 18 November 2022.

Support required includes reading and/or writing for a student. The support is provided in a compassionate manner, whilst maintaining the utmost confidentiality for the student.

If you have an interest in volunteering in this important area, we would love to hear from you. You may volunteer for one exam or multiple exams depending upon your availability. We have been fortunate to have volunteers work in this manner for some time, gaining valuable insight into the support provided to Trinity students, and facilitating the process of supporting individual students in need. Please note if you have a family member completing year 12 assessments in 2022, we will not be able to allocate you to our Year 12 group, but your assistance with Year 10 and/or 11 is greatly appreciated. Teachers are not permitted to assist our students, as part of the NESA requirements.

In line with Trinity Grammar’s Child Protection Policy, a Working with Children Check (WWCC) is essential, along with a volunteer code of conduct review and agreement. You may apply for a check or gather additional information by accessing this link: Child Safe Organisations. Once your Working with Children Check is complete, you will need to provide the WWCC number and your date of birth to the school so you can be cleared to volunteer with students. The check is free for volunteers and remains valid for five years.

If you would like to volunteer, or require further information, please contact Simone Glassford on 02 9581 6078 or email sglassford@trinity.nsw.edu.au
