Trinity welcomes Ms Geneva Clayton as Head of the Preparatory School

This week, Trinity has announced that the School has appointed the new Head of the Preparatory School, Ms Geneva Clayton.

Headmaster Mr Tim Bowden announced the news earlier this week to the current School community, sharing Ms Clayton’s experience and expressing his thankfulness to God for His provision to the School.

Ms Clayton is currently serving as the Head of Junior School at The Illawarra Grammar School, which is a responsibility that she has filled with distinction for seven years. Prior to that appointment, she had a number of leadership roles at Methodist Ladies College, Burwood, and St Catherine’s School, Waverley. In addition to her teaching qualifications, Ms Clayton has earned a Certificate in Gifted Education and a Master of Educational Leadership. She has a deep knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, and she understands the crucial contribution of the co-curricular program of the School in its mission. Ms Clayton is a committed Christian, attending her local Anglican church.

Mr Bowden also shared that Ms Clayton’s connection with Trinity Grammar School has already been established, with her son having been a student at the Preparatory School.

“She is delighted that this opportunity has arisen to provide her with an opportunity to serve at a School that is so close to her heart,” Mr Bowden said on Ms Clayton’s behalf.

Ms Clayton steps into this role after Mr Chris Wyatt who has led the Preparatory School since 2015 and is taking up a role as Deputy Principal at Thomas Hassall Anglican College from the beginning of 2026. Mr Wyatt will be greatly missed by all at the Preparatory School and, indeed, across every campus.

Due to Ms Clayton needing to provide notice to her current employer, she will take up the position as the Head of the Preparatory School from the beginning of Term 2, 2026. In the interim, Mr Richard Lever will return to the role of Acting-Head of the Preparatory School, which he has filled for much of this year.
