Weekend Sports Roundup – NSW volleyball title

Trinity’s volleyball firsts have won the Division One championship at the NSW Schools State Cup.

The victory at Olympic Park last Friday marks them as the top schools team in the state.

Trinity did not fare so well in the Black and Green Shield, however, relinquishing the trophy after securing 14 wins to St Patrick’s 27, with four draws.

Highlights included strong wins for the rugby firsts, who beat St Pat’s 40-22, and the seconds, who won 29-20.

The tennis firsts and seconds followed suit, beating St Pat’s 6-2 and 7-1 respectively.

The Year 9-10 AFL team scored a convincing win over Riverview.

The footballers, however, had a tough time with 11 wins against 21 losses, with the firsts losing heavily and the seconds managing a goalless draw.

In representative news, Logan Toohey (12Ke) has been selected in the Australian Emus, the U18 touch football team to play in the Asia Pacific Youth Touch Cup in Queensland next month.
