Weekend Sports Roundup – Trinity Triumphs Across the Court and Pool
Trinity teams delivered another strong weekend of results, with commanding victories and standout individual performances.
In basketball, the Firsts dominated Cranbrook 102-68, while the Seconds also secured a convincing 51-25 win. The 10Fs celebrated their first victory of the season (28-27), thanks to Peter Patsalis (10Hi) sinking a last-second basket. Meanwhile, Marcus Kekatos (12Ar) nailed a crucial three-pointer to seal victory for the 7th V.
In water polo, the Firsts powered through a thrilling Friday night match to claim a 20-9 win. On Saturday, the Seconds held Sydney Boys High to a hard-fought 6-all draw, while the 16s secured an impressive 11-5 victory over Cranbrook.
Volleyball saw further success, with the Firsts sweeping their match 3-0. The Seconds staged a dramatic comeback, rallying from two sets down to win 3-2, led by a standout performance from Ryan Le (11Du).
On the tennis courts, the Firsts fell 2-6, but the Seconds triumphed with a 5/42 to 3/27 victory over Cranbrook. Meanwhile, Table Tennis delivered dominant performances against Newington, securing 5-0 wins in both Divisions 1 and 2.
Cricket produced mixed results. The Firsts and Seconds fell short, but the Thirds excelled, with Jordan Fudeh (11Yo) leading the charge—scoring 61 runs and taking 3-1. The 13As also impressed, with Joel Pagano (7Hi) top-scoring with 53 runs and claiming two wickets.
In debating, the Intermediates swept to victory with a 4-0 result. The Seniors finished with a 2-2 draw, while the Juniors fell 1-3. Our Chess teams rounded out the weekend with a 7-5 win over Cranbrook.
Representative Honours
Thomas Bermingham (12Mu) captained the CAS Opens Cricket side, leading from the front with 69 runs in a narrow win over ISA. Xander Carstens (11Ke) was also a part of the victorious CAS Opens team, while Jayden Paskaranathan (9Du) earned CAS U15 Cricket selection.
