Weekend Sports Roundup – Six track and field gold
Trinity track and field club athletes have won six gold medals at the NSW track and field relays event.
They also won five silver and seven bronze medals for a total of 18, compared with eight last year.
The gold medal-winning team members included Mason McGroder(10WH), Sasha Ratnavadivel (10Du), Takoda Murphy (11St), Hussein Choker (10He), Cody Ramanauskas (10Ke), William Jenkins (10Hi), Tom Blackman (9Du), Eligh Balic (9Ho), Jozef Cluff (10Ar), Rohan Dean (9Hi), Matt Chen (10Hi), Kyle Jiang (9Sc), and Sam Telfer (9He).
Trinity also enjoyed a strong weekend of results against Barker, winning 36 events against 31 losses, including victories for the firsts in basketball, tennis, water polo, and volleyball.
The basketball firsts won 78-47, and the seconds 66-19, while the Year 8 teams won all but one of their 11 matches.
Tennis teams went down 8-10 overall, but the firsts won 5-3 and the seconds won on countback 35 games to 32 after drawing 4-4.
The volleyball firsts and seconds both won 3-0 and the water polo firsts defeated St Andrews 23-6.
The cricket firsts drew, as did the 9As, who fell just four runs short of victory after a stirring 79 runs from 82 balls from Eamon Turner (8Ta).
Touch football went down 2-8, with a win to the Open Bs against Waverley, as well as the Open Cs, who played St Aloysius.
Table tennis came away 6-0 winners against Riverview, aided by a number of forfeits.
