Weekend Sports Roundup – Hawaiian gold
Trinity encourages a wide range of sporting pursuits but they don’t come much more exotic than winning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gold medals in Hawaii.
Kobe Harb (8Hi) came home with three gold medals and the championship belt from the North American Grappling Association’s Hawaiian Championships in Honolulu.
He competed in both his division and the category above.
Back at home, Trinity’s seconds and 10A cricketers are leading at the halfway point of the season after a rain-affected weekend.
The seconds scored 194, with Daniel Clough (10WH) making 54 not out, securing a win by bowling Waverley out for 67, with Jayden Tsang (9We) taking 5/22.
The firsts drew, scoring 148 and coming within a wicket of winning as Waverley finished at 9/127, with Charles Williams (11La) taking 5/13.
Four students were selected in the CAS U17 water polo team after the trials at Knox.
They were Taj Young (9We), Marcus Cupac (10He), Lachlan Rathbone (10Ke), and Max Burke-Moore (11Ar).
