Family Service

Congratulations and thanks to Trinity Singers and Chapel Band for their beautiful singing and playing to lead the Family Service last Sunday at the War Memorial Chapel at Summer Hill. Thanks also to the parents who assisted with the choir robes before and after the service. None of this would have been possible without the support and leadership from Ms Keyser, Mr Smith, Mrs Swanton and Mr Kinda.

Trinity Singers are now preparing for Term 4 events such as the Royal School of Church Music Junior Schools Choral Festival to be held at St. Andrew’s Cathedral on Tuesday 18th October commencing at 6:15pm as well as the Christmas Service, Remembrance Day and Prize Giving. All rehearsals are going ahead unless otherwise notified, so please ensure boys are present at all rehearsals as we have quite a deal of repertoire to learn to fulfil our commitments.

Memorial Day

Thanks again to Trinity Singers and Chapel Band for their moving performance of Amazing Grace/Pachelbel’s Canon and Tank for playing on the soprano saxophone You Raise Me Up on Wednesday for Memorial Day Service.

Primary Years Arts Festival

What a week of outstanding performances! This is the first year we have presented the weeklong afternoon music performance program to serenade and add atmosphere as guests viewed the Art Exhibition. Thanks to the Instrumental Music Staff and the afternoon performance co-ordinators for their efforts and to the boys for their commitment, professionalism and willingness to share their talent. I certainly hope you enjoyed the performing experience.

Wednesday night was the Music Concert featuring our senior ensembles, Denham Court Scholar and the much-anticipated Years 3-6 students’ performance of Highlights from Hamilton as the finale. After nearly two years of singing restrictions it was exhilarating to hear so many voices fill the gym and tackle a technically and rhythmically challenging score with such gusto! Thanks to Mrs Campbell, Ms Keyser, Mrs Swanton and Mr Wallis for making the combined item a reality. Special mention and appreciation to the AV Team from Summer Hill for the visuals and sound and to our Administration and Maintenance team for providing the transportation of the additional choir risers and gym set-up. Thanks to the Classroom teachers for their support throughout the rehearsals and on the night. A real team effort. Well done!

Emily Sun Strings Workshop

Next Wednesday 31st August from 3:15pm-4:30pm members of all the violin and cello string ensembles will attend a Strings Workshop presented by International Recording and Performing Artist Emily Sun. Emily is a past pupil of Methodist Ladies College in Burwood and has lived and worked for the last few years in London.  She has won numerous international instrumental music competitions and we are thrilled after a number of years of trying for this event, that she will finally be with us. Thanks in advance to Ms Welsh for accompanying the boys and to the selected soloists.
