Book Review by Mrs Abigail Nel

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid ☆☆☆☆☆

This book has been sitting in my TBR (to be read) pile for far too long. I eventually got round to picking it up and once I started, I couldn’t put it down. Taylor has written an exceptional story that sees Monique, a reporter, work closely with Evelyn Hugo, a huge movie star from the 1950s-80s, to write her biography. Throughout her life, she experiences both the highs and lows of fame with her best friend and 7 husbands. The reasons behind her marriages aren’t always love, but they always get her what she wants! Evelyn is now in her 80s and has a special reason for choosing Monique to write for her, with the twist being unveiled in the last few pages.
