Taking Action in the Library

We have been very excited to watch the boys take action in the Library space, through book recommendations, sharing ways they think the Library should be changed and offering suggestions to direct their own learning. In order to celebrate the students, we have begun to share ways they are taking action in a display outside of the Library space.

Joseph started us off with some great designs for our new genre labels, lots of students were keen to vote on their favourite design and some other students even decided they wanted to have a go.

Our Year 1 students also got on board by selecting the books they felt would answer their initial wonderings they had posed at the start of their Sharing the Planet unit. They were very careful at reading through the books to see if they suited and then made a selection of about fifty books to share between the three classrooms. They will now be able to refer to these resources throughout their inquiries.

On Wednesday 25th May we will be celebrating National Simultaneous Storytime, this year we will be reading the book Family Tree by Josh Pyke.

We would love students to design their own family tree so we can add them to our Family Tree display! We also have a Trinity Family Tree display with photos of the Staff when they were young. Boys have to guess which staff member is in the photo!
