Dear Parents,

A bright autumnal day last Saturday saw a spread of results in all winter season sports. In Year 6 Football, the A team had a tighter affair against Cranbrook going down 4-2. The 5As put 11 goals past Redlands, playing some excellent 9-a side football at Bressington Park. The 1st XV Rugby boys had a strong first up win against Scots on No. 1 Oval and the 11As had a fine win at Tudor House, their first win across 2021-22. However, the 10As went down, also against Scots.

The Intra football boys had strong tussles at Bressington between our Junior School Blue & Yellow teams with improved small-sided football on display in all matches.

The combined AFL team we had a narrow defeat against St. Augustine’s by just 3 points over on the northern beaches.

Attendance on the weekend was good, however, some boys still arrived less than the 30 minutes before their match, which is a requirement to effectively prepare. If boys are late, it makes it very hard for the coach and other players’ pre-match preparations. I will be instructing coaches where possible to start boys who arrive late from the bench particularly when arriving with 10 minutes or less to game commencement. In particular, 7s Rugby teams at Koola Park had boys showing up just before kick-off time!

If you have an issue on Friday evenings/Saturday mornings my, number is 0438 980 602. A text is the preferred form of contact.

All traditional Rugby boys have started training on Mondays at 7am on No.1 Oval. Year 5 Football is also Monday’s at 7am and Year 4 & 6 Football is on Wednesday mornings. If your son has a clash with another activity on those days, please let me know so we can find a suitable arrangement.
