Welcome back to Term 2 where there will be a number of performing opportunities for all Instrumental students ranging from the Studio Concerts, Strings Soiree to the Gala Concert, so please continue to read this article for up to date information as we progress throughout the term.

Anzac Day

Thanks to Miss Keyser, Mrs Swanton and Trinity Singers for their performance of the National Anthem and I Have A Dream at the Anzac Day Service on Wednesday. The message of peace in the song was very topical.

Strings Soiree

Save the date for the 2022 Strings Soiree scheduled for Monday 16th May at 6pm in the Gym.  All the string ensembles and invited soloists will perform. Information letters with further details will be distributed soon. Thanks to Ms Chan for her organisation of this event and we look forward to seeing you there.

Student News

Congratulations to Cayden Tsang who earlier in the year entered the USA Atlanta/New York International Youth Music Competition. He has recently been notified that he has won the Grand Prize for his age group.

Cayden has subsequently been invited by the panel of Jurors to play in New York at the Di Menna Centre for Classical Music at their winners’ concert in August this year!

Studio Concerts

In Weeks 6 and 7 all students who learn in the Private Tuition Program at the Preparatory School will be performing at their Instrumental Teacher’s Studio Concert. Further details will be shared once arrangements are confirmed.

Instrumental Lessons

A reminder that parents are not permitted to attend Instrumental Music Lessons or drop off instruments that have been forgotten on the day they are required. The aim is to teach the students to take responsibility, develop independence and be accountable for their equipment and learning. They have done a great job in the last two years and we wish to continue their growth in these areas.

Afternoon Ensemble Pick-up

For Music Ensemble pick-up in the afternoon, we request that parents please wait on the basketball court and not congregate outside the Mozart or Beethoven Rooms inside the Music Centre. The Directors of the Ensembles will accompany the students upstairs to the basketball court and to the Llandilo Gate.
