We were fortunate to still see seven Basketball matches, two Touch Football contests and one Tennis & Cricket fixture proceed despite La Nina’s best efforts to curtail another Saturday Sport’s session.

A highlight was our 2nd V Basketball’s total domination of Kings winning by 60-8 at TGS Prep’s new covered court.

Our Tennis boys made it three wins from three outings but were challenged on this occasion by a strong Redlands team winning 7 sets to 5.

Winter Season

With the weather it feels like winter is already here, you are reminded that Round 1 is on Saturday, 30 April, the first Saturday in Term 2 and runs through all four Saturdays in May (7, 14, 21, 28) as well as Saturday 4 June. No sport will be on Saturday 11 June (Long Weekend) then we have one more round on Saturday 18 June before the end of Semester One and the holiday break. Our final three rounds of winter competition (rounds 8-10) begin immediately upon our return from the mid-year vacation and will be contested on July 23, 30 and August 6.

Thursday morning trials will commence on March 24, the Thursday after summer season has ceased for Term 1. Boys are reminded that mouthguards are essential for rugby , AFL and shin guards for football as well as boots for all three winter sports.

We have one Saturday Winter Trial Day on Saturday, April 2. Cooke Park and Bressington Park will be used. Further details to come.

If your son is selected in an Intra team for Winter, we will be commencing with Football for at least the first seven weeks of Term 2.

Once the draft draw is ready, I will load it onto the TGS App under ‘Fixtures for the season’ to give you a guide as to where matches will be hosted but please wait until teams are announced for exact times and locations. All home football matches for Football and Intra Sport will be held at Bressington Park, Homebush.

TGSJS Cross Country Championships

These will be held, weather permitting on Friday morning, March 18 at school as a precursor to the IPSHA Cross Country which will take place at The Kings School. Only five boys will go in each age group to Kings, a squad of 20.
