Water Polo

Welcome!

This week has seen the return of water polo training at the Centenary Pool, and we welcome a number of new players, including the new Year 7 students. This Saturday, Year 7 players will be involved in a training session between 8:00am and 8:45am. Following this session a selected Trinity team will be involved in the CAS Water Polo trials being held between 9:00am and 4:00pm at the Trinity Centenary Pool. On Saturday 12 February Trinity will host our first round of CAS water polo for the season. We look forward to seeing you all poolside soon!

Water Polo Summer Slam Wrap – T Rathbone (12Ke)

In January, I and a number of other Trinity students were fortunate to represent our state at the Water polo Australia Summer Slam. This competition included the best players from each state, including Harrison Evans and me representing the NSW Blues in the born ‘04 team, Harper Stewart and Lucus young in the born ‘05 team, and Lucus Blythe and Ashwin Shivapirabu in their respective born ‘06 teams. These boys played four days of tough competition against competitive opponents, with many of us coming away with medals from our respective competitions. Lucus Young, Harper Stewart and I were lucky enough to be selected in the Australian youth squad who entered a training camp after the tournament, followed up by competing in the Under 20 tournament as a part of the Australian ‘barbarians’ teams. This competition was to a standard none of us had been a part of before and was an extremely positive experience. All Trinity boys that took part in the summer slam should be congratulated on their selection in NSW teams, and participation in the competition. Having six boys selected in NSW teams from Years 11 and 12 speaks to the strength of Trinity water polo and the extremely bright future our programme has ahead.
