Time For More – Reading

Shared story time is such an important element of a child’s education. To ensure this continues during remote learning, reading with Mrs Nel has been created within the Time For More spaces. Infant’s boys are treated to a reading of a picture book three times a week and Primary boys are engaging in an online book club. Below are some responses made by the infant students as they engaged with some of the stories.

Author Spotlight | Shaun Tan

This year the Book Week theme, Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds came with this beautiful poster that was illustrated by Shaun Tan. Shaun Tan is an Australian artist, writer and filmmaker who began drawing and writing stories from a young age.

Shaun is an exceptional author and illustrator of many children’s books. Whilst his books are enjoyed by readers of all ages, there are always deep messages that can be unpacked by both the older reader and adults. We would encourage you to enjoy his website and keep an eye out for one of his many titles that are available.
