Naidoc Week
NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July (7-11 July) to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Our students took time to better understand the theme of Heal Country through the Writing Competition held for all students in 3-6 at the end of last term.
Holiday Reading
We are sure that the current restrictions provided plenty of opportunities to catch up on reading. We would usually share this as we return to school, but as we are learning remotely, books will be shared via Prep News. Below are some books that staff have enjoyed. Can you see what your teachers have been reading?
Family Submissions
We are currently putting together what books students and parents have been enjoying over the break. Please email us a small photo of yourself and the best book you read; this will then be shared in next week’s Prep News. Also, if you celebrated NAIDOC week, we would love to hear what you did. All submissions should be emailed to Mrs Nel at anel@trinity.nsw.edu.au.
Book Week
Whilst it might seem a little crazy to be thinking about what we will be doing in 4 weeks’ time, we do want to begin preparations for Book Week. How this will run is unknown at this stage, but what we do know is that we can all still dress up! The theme this year is Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds. Start thinking about what you may like to dress up as, creating a costume may be the perfect lockdown activity!
