Thank goodness the opportunity for reading continues even in lockdown. There are a number of ways the boys can continue to read or be read to online.

Electronic book options

Students have access to our online collection of books with the following popular series all available as e-books, and some as audiobooks.

The boys can access Ebooks on their Canvas page. When they go to the dashboard, just click on JS Library; E books and then the option for Bolinda ebooks and audio books is available.

Storybox Library is an excellent Australian resource of books being read to children. Parents and students can log on through the details below.

Another platform for online library options is Epic! Which can be found at https://www.getepic.com/  Families can create their own account on this site.

Premiers Reading Challenge

Boys in Years 3-6 are encouraged to add any new books to their Premiers Reading Challenge account before it finishes in one month’s time. A reminder that sign in details have been glued into the front cover of each boy’s Year Book. Many books available on the online platforms can be added to the PRC account.

Book Review

Any boys that would like to present a book review of a recent book they have read can contact Mrs Bowden via this link with their name, class, and a brief overview of the story line without giving too many clues away. Indicate which genre the book is classified under (Fantasy, Adventure, Mystery and Suspense, Horror, Realistic, Historical, Humour, Science Fiction, Sport, War) why they would recommend this book and how many stars out of 5 you would give it.
