Academic Excellence
2008 HSC/IB RESULTS –
OUTSTANDING ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

Congratulation to the Trinity Scholars' – Class of 2008

Our former Seniors, the Class of 2008, have left a fine legacy in terms of their pleasing HSC and IB results. 21 students received a UAI of 99+ placing them in the top 1% of the state. Credit for this must undoubtedly go first and foremost to the boys themselves, for their diligent efforts in relation to their studies. The professionalism of our talented, hard working staff and the support of family are other important ingredients in these noteworthy achievements. As a non-selective, open entry School, we recorded our normal range of results whilst proportionally speaking being over-represented at the top end of the scale of results. The fact that the vast majority of our former Seniors were also fully involved in the diverse life of the School, beyond the classroom, during 2008 adds further lustre to their achievements – congratulations and well done, Class of 2008!

Overall, for 2008, we had 42 boys presenting themselves for the IB Diploma, with some 176 boys undertaking the HSC qualification.

2008 IB
The performance of our IB candidates was quite outstanding – one of the best on record, since our first IB graduating cohort back in 2000, with 77.5% of our boys a UAI equivalent score in excess of 90. The average IB points score for our IB Diplomates was 37, which equates to a UAI of 96.7.

Ben Balzer (Ar) came equal first in the world, scoring a maximum 45 points, to become the fourth member of a very select group of Trinity IB Diplomates who have achieved this ultimate standard of academic excellence – congratulations, Ben.
