The OTU held their Annual Golf Day on March 1st at the Concord Golf Club with its splendid greens and facilities. A total of 120 players participated, teeing off after a welcome by the Head master at 12.30pm, and despite the humid conditions had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon on the course. After the round, the players and guests mingled in the clubrooms before the buffet dinner, at which the renowned cricketer Doug Walters was the guest of honour. His informative talk, in a Question and Answer format, gave entertaining and interesting insights into his life’s work in cricket. Prizes donated by the various sponsors were presented, and the event concluded with everyone looking forward enthusiastically to next year’s Golf Day, for there is no doubt that this popular event is now firmly fixed in the OTU Calender.
