TRININTY CULTURAL ASSOCIATION

After discussion between Mr. Reg Marsh and Chairman of the Council, Mr. James Mills, it was agreed to initiate The Trinity Cultural Association. The Trinity Cultural Association was incorporated, although it had operated previously, in 1988.

The Trinity Cultural Association is an entity within the school that was set up to encourage and financially support a range of cultural endeavours to the extended community. The Trinity Cultural Association is a body that attracts regular tax deductible donations and is always looking for ways to distribute money to encourage these cultural endeavours to the community.

The Cultural Association provides a range of scholarships and awards within the school. In 2003, these awards are as follows:

Reg Marsh History Award (1985)
- Students from Ashfield Boys High School would submit an essay as a result of researching original sources into some local Ashfield Municipal Issue.
- Students from Trinity Grammar School submit an essay as a result of researching original sources into some aspect of the Trinity community.


Music Leavers Scholarship
The Director of Music Performance in consultation with the Director of Creative Arts would make recommendation to The Cultural Association of no more than two Year 12 students who should be encouraged to continue their Music studies once having left Trinity Grammar School.


The James Mills Scholarship
Awarded to the Dux of Strathfield.

The Janet & Roderick West Commemorative Scholarship
A student of Year 11 moving into Year 12 who exemplifies a love of Latin and French. Alternatively, Latin and/or a Modern Language.

Society of the Arts/Denham Court Scholar
A student who shows his potential for future development and his ability to be a figurehead for instrumental music at the Preparatory School.


Donald Holder Music Scholarship (2003)
- Junior School
A student who shows his potential for future development and his ability to be a figurehead for instrumental music at the Junior School.

HSC and I B Visual Art Purchases
The purchase of appropriately outstanding Visual Art Works to add to the collection.

Trinity Arts Festival (2003)
Is to be used at the Director of Creative Arts discretion to assist with emergency items during the local community cultural outreach programme - The Trinity Arts Festival.

International Student Film Festival 1st prize
This is to provide the 1st prize.
