Water Polo
Report: Saturday 4 March 2006

The Water Polo fraternity and School Community at Trinity flexed its muscles in support of the First's Water Polo team with a bumper crowd on pool deck at 9.00am.
Many thanks to the parents and boys who got out of bed a little earlier than usual on Saturday!
The 16a's result was never in question with them dominating from the opening whistle. It was a fine team performance with the goals being shared around and all players working hard in defence. Nicholas Allen 10He was particularly impressive in the match, with Trinity winning 9 to 3. This result saw the Trinity 16a's take out the premiership, being undefeated in the CAS/GPS Competition.

Firsts Report
The Firsts game between Trinity and Riverview began, as you would expect for a Grand Final game, with both teams showing early nerves. Riverview showed composure to settle into their pattern and score the first goal and the game looked certain to be a closely fought contest. However, with the vocal support of a home crowd, this goal served to spur the Trinity team to a 6 and 0 scoring run during the first half that all but extinguished any designs Riverview had on the title. The highlight of this period was 2 unbelievable goals Rhys Sawford 11St scored from the centre forward position. Despite a goal from Riverview at the beginning of the second half, the Trinity juggernaut could not be stopped going on to a comprehensive 10 to 2 victory. The defensive effort by Hayden Allum 12Du was awesome effectively shutting down the main Riverview strike weapon, and as usual the Captain of Water Polo Benjamin Turner 12St dominated in attack scoring 6 goals. This victory sees the coveted CAS/GPS Water Polo Trophy return to Summer Hill for the first time since 1996.
