CAS Swimming | updated 10 February 2012 On Thursday 10th March 2011, the Trinity CAS Swimming Team fought off some of the fiercest competition seen at the CAS Championships in recent years to retain the Tyne Challenge Shield for the eighth consecutive year. Our Team’s success is due in no small part to the enormous efforts of the Trinity supporters who inspired our boys to repel the Knox onslaught following the Freestyle events. In this way, our 2011 success was a victory for the entire Trinity Community.
CAS Swimming Champions 2011 Our Team is currently lead by our Captain of Swimming, Matthew Treloar (12Sc) and our Vice Captain of Swimming, Ben McDermott (12Ke). These two young men continue a proud tradition at Trinity where our senior swimmers set an example and help develop, our younger team members both in the water and on the pool deck. Although many swimmers train all year round, the school’s main competition season is held during Terms 4 and 1, primarily against other CAS schools. To encourage our boys to compete and train throughout the entire year, all boys are encouraged to join the Trinity Swimming Club where they can represent the School in amateur carnivals at both State and National level. Once students have completed their studies at Trinity Grammar School, they are encouraged to continue with their training at the School whilst competing for the Trinity Swimming Club and undertaking tertiary studies. The School is especially proud to be developing swimmers who represent Australia internationally including three former Captains of Trinity Swimming: Kenneth To (class of 2009), Theodore Pasialis (class of 2007) and Wayne Shillington (class of 1984). Our Old Boys and Current Swimmers Break an Australian Record
