The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a rigorous pre-university
course of studies, leading to examinations, that meets the needs of highly
motivated secondary school students in Years 11 and 12. For a number of
students, it is an excellent alternative to the HSC. Designed as a comprehensive
two-year curriculum that allows its graduates to fulfil requirements of
various national education systems, the diploma model is based on the
pattern of no single country but incorporates the best elements of many.
The curriculum is displayed in the shape of a hexagon with six academic
areas surrounding the core. Subjects are studied concurrently and students
are exposed to the two great traditions of learning - the humanities and
the sciences.

2007 IB Diploma Results
It should be noted that this year the new “tougher” revised conversion table, which translates IB Diploma marks into equivalent UAI statistics, comes into effect. Yet, to our boys’ credit, their overall results in UAI terms were once again quite outstanding, with the average IB Diploma score for the Class of 2007 being 35.02 marks, which equates to a UAI equivalent of 94.50.
