Physics Olympiad provides many potential benefits for the student who has a keen interest in Physics to be involved in this process. It will strengthen his understanding of a wide range of Physics topics that will be relevant to his future studies of Physics in the HSC, the IB or at University. It will help develop his critical thinking and problem solving abilities. He can choose to sit the Physics Olympiad Examination in August 2009 and/or 2010. If he achieves well in the examination, he may qualify for the Physics Olympiad Summer School. Each year, outstanding students are invited to represent their state in the national competition and then a small group of these students are selected to represent Australia at the International level. The International Physics Olympiad will be held in Mexico in 2009 and in Croatia in 2010. Other details of the Physics Olympiad can be found at the website: www.aso.edu.au
