DRAMA

Master-in-Charge: Mr Brendan Duhigg

Captain of Drama  James Dickman (12Ho)

Vice-Captain of Drama  William Cook (12WH)

1. Major Productions
The School provides ample opportunities for boys from all years to be involved in a wide range of dramatic activities and productions. Generally, there are at least three productions a year – a major effort which opens the Creative Arts Festival in June each year, as well as a Senior School and Middle School production. The School also has an enviable and variable array of both internal and external performance spaces. Students should be aware there are just as many creative opportunities to work both backstage and on technical aspects of productions.

Meeting Details:
To become involved in productions, boys should keep an ear attuned for audition dates and rehearsal times through the daily notices.

2. Theatre Games
‘Space Jump,’ ‘Party Quirks,’ ‘Expert Double Figures,’ ‘Statues’ – things you can hire for your next big bash? No, these are the names of some the games played in Theatre Games. And Trinity boys are doing it, throwing off the mantle of fear, leaping into the lion’s den of improvised theatre, stopping the mouths of would-be man eaters with... well, laughter mostly. You see, Theatre Games is fun.

The boys are learning to work together in teams, learning to respond quickly and spontaneously to various stimuli, learning to risk being foolish and not minding, learning to conquer nerves, and mostly, learning to have a good time together in our weekly meeting. This is Theatre Games where being silly is fun.

Meeting Details:
Wednesday afternoon from 3.40pm to 5.00pm in The Latham Theatre.
