Participation of boys in sporting activities is an essential part of school life. The boys benefit from such participation in many ways, including: improvement in physical well-being; learning to extend themselves; learning and experiencing team work; developing and refining skills; learning to cope with adversity; learning to lose with dignity, to win with grace.
Boys in Kindergarten to Year 4 do not play in teams at an inter-school level (Year 4 commence in Term 4). Year 3-4 boys participate in 6-7 week skills sessions in the four traditional sports of Cricket, Basketball, Rugby and Football (Soccer), during their twice weekly sport sessions. These culminate in a Saturday morning Gala Day at the end of each Season of Sport where all boys play a series of house games. The boys must all meet a minimum swimming standard in their swimming sessions and are also involved in a Track & Field season. All boys in Years 3 to 6 are required to attend sports practices and to make themselves available to play for a School team on Saturday mornings at the various venues each Saturday of term.
