Canteen
The Preparatory School Canteen is an integral part of Trinity Grammar
Preparatory School, catering for over 525 boys, 50 members of staff and
many specialised and VIP luncheons throughout the school year.
It is open every day from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. to serve all boys
in Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6. It provides a varied nutritional menu
for the summer and winter terms with a wide selection of healthy
food from which the boys can choose.
The Canteen is staffed by our Canteen Supervisor, assisted by volunteers
from the parent body. Our volunteer parents work from a monthly roster.

Prep News - The Weekly News Bulletin
Every Friday afternoon throughout the School year, your son will receive
his weekly Prep News. It is his responsibility to see that his parents
receive it by Friday evening.
Where boys are chosen to represent the School in Saturday morning fixtures,
it is the responsibility of parents to see that their son is punctual
in his attendance and where unforeseen illness or circumstances arise,
a letter to the Master should be made prior to the match day, or a call
to the Sportsmaster (0414 755 031) before the game. In this way, replacements
can be found and the organisation of the team is less disrupted. Please
let us know if your son will be unavailable as soon as you can so that
team selection will be minimally affected.
Parents can check the Wet Weather number 1300 788177 if weather
is doubtful for after-school training or Saturday morning sport.
School Library
The Preparatory School has an excellent collection of fiction, non-fiction
and reference material. The collection also includes magazines, videos
and audio cassettes. Parents are welcome and Library staff are happy to
assist parents with choosing suitable material for their son.
Clothing Pool
The School Clothing Pool for second-hand school uniform items is conducted
by the Strathfield Auxiliary. It is open on the first and third Friday
of the month from 9.15am - 10.15am.
Family Services
During the course of the year, Family Services are held for the boys and
their families in the School Chapels at Summer Hill and Strathfield. We
urge you to keep these dates free of other commitments and share in these
important events in the life of our School. The dates and times of these
Services will be listed in the Calendar and a timely reminder is given
in the Weekly Bulletins.
Missionary Collection
Each week the boys may donate a small amount of money as part of the Missionary
Collection, which is then taken up at the Thursday Chapel Service. Family
Service Offertories are also included in this collection.
Open Evenings For Parents
Early in the School year, a series of informal evenings will be held.
These are designed to give you the opportunity of meeting other parents
of boys as well as members of staff.
Reports & Parent / Teacher Interviews
Communication between the School and parents is encouraged. If you have
any concerns regarding your sons progress you should contact his
teacher for an interview at any time. At the end of Term 1 and early in
Term 2, formal Parent/Teacher interviews are organised and all parents
are asked to take advantage of this opportunity.
At the end of Term 2 and Term 4 (Semesters 1 and 2 respectively), a comprehensive
written report will be sent home.
School Cub Pack
Each Tuesday evening of Term, the School Cub Pack meets in the Scout Hall
at Summer Hill. Under the leadership of its Akela and Assistants, the
Pack enjoys its programme of activities from 6.00 p.m. until 7.30 p.m.
Boys who are aged between 7 and 10.5 years or over are eligible to join
the Cub Pack. Boys over the age of ten years are eligible to join the
Scout Troop which meets at the Senior School on Friday evenings from 6.30
- 8.30 pm.
Further Club Activities
Towards the end of Term 4 a questionnaire is sent home asking parents
to nominate their sons for the various other after-school activities.
These include Chess, Tennis, Computers, Self Defence and Art Club. This
diverse range is offered to give every boy from Years 3-6 an opportunity
to participate in an activity of his choosing. Don't overtax your son,
as he may already have heavy involvement in other areas. Such a programme
is only possible through the consistent dedication and commitment displayed
by so many of our staff members.
