first time should complete an “Enrolment

Department Office. Demand for places in the programme could exceed availability
and it is recommended that you lodge the enrolment form as soon as possible.

will automatically be re-enrolled at the beginning of the new calendar
year unless written notice of cancellation is received no later than 31st
December, prior to the commencement of the New Year.
FEES
- Fees are set annually based on the recommended fee for private music
teacher in New South Wales. These fees will be charged with the School
Tuition at the end of each term
- Failure to pay fees will result in tuition being discontinued.
- Students entering the programme after the beginning of a term will
be billed accordingly.
Fees for instrumental tuition in 2008 is $36 for a half-hour lesson,
which is charged with other School fees on the term account issued by
the Bursar’s Office. (Please note the music fees are always billed

SCHOLARSHIP OUTCOME
All students who are on music scholarships are expected to take part in
the instrumental and choral programme of the School and to perform such
duties related to this programme as directed by the Head Master or the
Director of Music. Owing to the large number of musically talented boys
coming to the School, Scholarships of this nature are awarded only to
boys whose musical aptitude and inclinations, are well above average.
It is further expected that Scholarship holders will be boys whose character
would gain the respect of other musicians in the School.
The selected student should demonstrate throughout the year of the Scholarship,
both individually and in ensemble:
- Consistently accurate reading of notation, metre, tempi, dynamics
and phrasing, to produce performances, whether
solo or in ensemble, that are fluent and convincing.
- Consistently demonstrate their developing technical proficiency on
the chosen instrument.
- Always attempt to perform expressively and with perception, demonstrating
sensitivity towards the music performed in order to effectively communicate
the mood and character of the music.
