Mission, Vision & Values

In February 2006, Trinity Grammar School opened its new Infants’ School at Lewisham, on the site previously occupied by St Thomas Becket Primary School.  Trinity’s Lewisham Campus currently caters for boys from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 2.  During 2012, as the new Junior School building at Summer Hill is completed, the boys from the Lewisham Campus will transition across to the new facilities.  This exciting venture will, for the first time, combine Infants and Primary on the one campus, at Summer Hill.

The Junior School at Trinity Grammar School will be a K-6 environment from 2012. Click here to view the New Junior School Brochure.

Pre-Kindergarten is an integral part of the Trinity Grammar School community. Pre-K is a ‘bridge’, a foundation year between conventional Pre-School/Long Day Care Centres and the first formal year of School, Kindergarten.  The Junior School Pre-Kindergarten also caters for three year olds who would like to be involved 3, 4 or 5 days a week, leading into the foundation year programme as a four year old.

Boys entering Pre-Kindergarten at the Junior School at Lewisham will be either three years old or four years old before April 30th in their first year at the School.

Embedded in the Primary Years Programme (PYP – International Baccalaureate Organisation), the core curriculum in Pre-K, are outcomes from Early Stage One (Board of Studies), the Emergent Curriculum, the Early Years Learning Framework as well as the Reggio Emilia philosophy which ‘partners’ the student with the environment. The environment is another ‘teacher.’  In Pre-K the boys benefit from Music, Art, Library and Christian Studies lessons. The boys participate in a Social Skills (Playing and Learning to Socialise Skills – PALS) programme. THRASS (Teaching Handwriting, Reading and Spelling Skills) is introduced in Pre-K. It is an ideal preparation for Kindergarten.

It is intended that there will be two Pre-K Classes at the Lewisham Campus of the Junior School. There will be a teacher and assistant teacher in each class.

On-site ‘Before and After School Care’ is available. (Click here for Details)
